Center for Applied Health Sciences

Mission

To safeguard human health through improvements in healthcare and food products, processes and systems.

We are an organization focused on teaching risk management approaches to safeguard human health.

We are an international organization that cooperates with industry and government to identify potential safety and quality concerns in both healthcare and food systems, and find ways to mitigate or eliminate those hazards.

The Center supports industry by:

  • providing assistance with compliance and regulatory issues,
  • providing information on the positive impact of quality management and risk management programs,
  • offering continuing education programs on the development and implementation of risk, compliance, and quality management, and
  • cooperating with regulatory agencies, professional societies, and trade organizations to achieve cost-effective solutions to product quality and safety issues.

The Center serves industry by addressing its instructional programs to specific areas of concern. We achieve our objectives by:

  • compiling listings and detailed information on hazards that may be encountered in the production of a product, as well as how to mitigate or eliminated those risks;
  • developing best management practices and economic analyses of product risks; and
  • finding often-overlooked hazards arising from inadequate product design, production, or packaging, differing cultural practices, and post-production contamination with physical, biological, or chemical agents

Detailed information is provided, ensuring that our clients and partners have the most complete solutions for regulatory compliance.
